Josie McSkimming

Josie has completed a PhD within the Social Sciences Department of the University of NSW. She also has a Bachelor in Social Work with First Class Honours from the University of NSW where she was awarded the University Medal. She has completed extensive post-graduate training in counselling including a year at the Institute of Emotionally Focussed Therapy in Annandale NSW and many workshops in Narrative Therapy at the Dulwich Centre in Adelaide. Josie has also completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Hypnosis, supervised by Dr Alan Fahey of Westmead Hospital.

She is an adjunct lecturer at the University of NSW where she teaches Narrative Therapy. She also currently teaches in the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) professional development program.

Josie has been in full-time private practice since 2000, specialising in relationship therapy and adult mental health. She is an accredited Mental Health Practitioner under the Medicare "Better Access to Mental Health Scheme".

Josie is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers.
