Counselling

Josie sees individuals and couples who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, or addiction problems. Sometimes people feel distressed or uneasy about how things are going in their lives and just want to talk things through with someone outside their immediate circle and explore possible ways forward.

Josie has a particular interest and expertise in assisting people with religious and spiritual trauma

Please note that Josie is an accredited Mental Health Practitioner under the Medicare "Better Access to Mental Health Scheme". This means you can receive a partial medicare rebate for ten services per year, if you are referred to Josie by your GP.

Please be aware that Josie often has a waiting list of six to eight weeks.

Training

Josie is an adjunct lecturer at the University of NSW where she teaches Narrative Therapy, which she has been practising since 1991. Josie also uses other modalities including clinical hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) where appropriate.

She also offers training workshops for the Australian Association of Social Work in Narrative Therapy and Mental Health.

If you have a training request, please make contact with Josie.

Supervision

Not only is Josie an experienced psychotherapist, but she also supervises other counsellors and therapists both in groups and individually.
