Dr Josie McSkimming is a clinical social worker with more than 35 years experience. She has practised in a wide range of settings, including hospital social work, inter-country adoption, post-adoption services, drug and alcohol treatment, individual and couples therapy and adult mental health.
As an experienced psychotherapist, she is well-equipped to assist you with your current concerns whether they be depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, or addiction issues. Perhaps you are finding life difficult, or even overwhelming, and would like to talk to someone about it.
Josie is also a skilled supervisor, trainer and teacher for groups or individuals.
Josie now offers appointments at rooms in Coogee in the eastern suburbs of Sydney NSW. Counselling and supervision sessions may also be conducted electronically. Josie practises on the land of the Bidjigal and Gadigal people of the wider Eora Nation. She acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which she lives and works and pays her respect to Elders past, present and emerging.

"Gutsy Girls" (known previously as "Memory is a Nesting Magpie")
about growing up in a complicated family as the younger sister of the poet
Dorothy Porter.
